Hi Alice,
Sorry for the delay. Yes, there has been an exchange on the 1 tonne bags and I've successfully collected some. The food waste, I haven't acted on yet as I'm unsure when I'll be ready to use it, but should do so in the near future....

Permaculture gardener wins big!
Hi Alice
Yes, we did a two day trip last week and picked up a trailerload of 13mm and 16mm irrigation alcathene as well as several bundles (cant tell you how long it is) of 1.8m wide frost cloth.
We will keep some of it, but most will be distributed to various addresses in Taranaki; an organic Market gardener (irrigation), a rarebreeds farm in backcountry (cloth), a permaculture lifestyleblock (irrigation and cloth) and a couple of housegardens
Thanks Christine...

I have just gone back through all the e-mails between us from the last six months. The only thing which we have ended up taking is the bulk bags from dairy goat corp. Sorry for not giving you any feedback.

Demolished kiwifruit structures find new use...
There is more than enough to go around still so please don't take it off the list.
We would like to return again to get some more next weekend. A friend of ours would also like to have a go.
Is it all the three structures by the way?
We took about 10 beams and some 12 planks
Kind regards
Evelien...

Waste Swap Really Works
Where's the future for a pile of obsolete computers, 9000 litres of reject beeswax and oceans of old colostrum?
For Comvita at Paengaroa the answer was as easy as a phone call and the lot was taken off their hands - but not to landfill.
Comvita is one of an increasing number of businesses turning waste in to 100 per cent recyclable materials through the Waste Exchange....

It ended up being a no go with the pods at Biotech. We are taking the avocado paste product that you did give me the contact for in Tauranga and we still have other leads which we are yet to follow up on.

Katikati daycare ecstatic!
Alice, you're a star!
I am sure we can manage the freight!
Oh, and we have just taken about 10 HUGE hessian bags from Carpet court (used to make a soft landing material for our Wannabe Supermen at the daycare, also cut the end of one and the kids run through it, like a tunnel. Took one home and my own kids have pegged it into the ground, soaped it up and made it into a waterslide! Great fun!...

Katikati centre upgrade complete with our help
We also got at least 15m of novilon/linoleum and then some, and heaps of carpet from carpet court, shared around between the daycare centre and the staff!
The 4yr old's extension programme room is now converted into a warm, comfy place, rather than the cold floor where they would have to sit on a rug! They are all very proud of their carpet. A big piece of novilon (3x2m) is used on the wooden deck for construction purposes...
